Highest grade Tincture of Benzoin. Used by bareback riders to toughen glove. Comes in convenient 4oz. bottle that fits easily in your gear bag. Includes handy dauber so you can apply directly to portion of glove you want to treat.

• Pure Hardness: A straight "tincture" consists almost entirely of benzoin resin and alcohol. When the alcohol evaporates, it leaves behind a highly crystallized, brittle, and rock-hard layer of resin. This is exactly what you want when trying to eliminate stretch and maximize the stiffness of a bareback glove or rigging handle.
• Less Flex: Because it lacks the additives found in a compound, it hardens the leather fibers deeply without giving them any "give."

• Compound Tincture: Added Flexibility: As a "Compound Tincture", the formula includes storax and tolu balsam. Tolu balsam acts as a plasticizer—its exact job is to keep the dried resin film flexible so it doesn't crack under stress.
• The Result on Leather: While the compound tincture will still stiffen the leather significantly compared to untreated hide, the compound elements are designed to offer a bit more flex and stickiness rather than maximum, brittle rigidity.
