Barstow Okie High Lift

In 2007 Justin McDaniel asked Neil Barstow to design a new bareback rigging to his specifications. Justin used a prototype for several months and other cowboys became interested and wanted to know what the rigging was called. Justin would answer, "Barstow has the Cajun High Lift, so ask for the Okie High Lift."
The Okie High Lift is a Pro Flex style bareback rigging, and currently has the longest body of all of the riggings we make. The center of the body is wider from front to back. This along with the design of the body, moves the handle forward farther forward as compared to our other bareback riggings.
All rawhide handholds take 14 - 16 weeks to complete. Each layer is individually hand-shaped and sealed and must be allowed to dry a certain amount of time to insure that your handhold is cured properly.
